AUK Library AI Showcase Brings Students Together to Explore AI Across Disciplines

The AUK Library hosted an AI Showcase on Wednesday, October 21, bringing together students from all three colleges to share their work and explore the possibilities of artificial intelligence across disciplines.

Around 20 students participated individually or in teams, presenting 11 distinctive projects. Representing fields including social sciences, engineering, art and design, and economics, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and consider how AI is shaping different areas of study.

The projects explored AI applications in human opinion, oral history, banking, educational games, and exam integrity, alongside creative work in art and typography and AI-themed reading activities.

In addition to the student projects, Pearson, a leading publisher of textbooks and provider of digital learning platforms, participated in the showcase in collaboration with an AUK student to highlight AI features within its learning platforms and their applications in teaching and learning. The Library also demonstrated its current AI-powered tools, resources, and features, alongside awareness guides and materials supporting the responsible use of AI in education.

By bringing students from different majors into a shared space, the showcase reflected the spirit of a liberal arts institution: encouraging inquiry, connecting perspectives, and facilitating conversations across fields of study. Participants could look beyond their own disciplines, discover common interests, and explore how ideas from one field might inform another.

The event highlighted the Library’s role as a hub for the creation and exchange of ideas—a place where the AUK community can come together to share knowledge, explore emerging technologies, and learn from one another.
