Shareefah Aladwani

Dr. Shareefa Abdullah Al-Adwani serves as the Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Kuwait.  She has served previously in positions such as Associate Dean, Assistant Dean for General Education, Department Chair of International Relations, Department Chair of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Director of the Center for Gulf Studies. For two years, Dr. Al-Adwani consulted as a Scientific Advisor for International Programs at the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and has served on the Board of Directors for and taught at the Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Kuwait Diplomatic Institute (KDI) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  
Dr. Al-Adwani is also an Associate Professor of Political Science in the Department of International Relations at the American University of Kuwait.  She completed her PhD in Political Science at the University of California, Davis, focusing on the two fields of International Relations and Quantitative Methods.  Dr. Al-Adwani has over a dozen publications and organized a Gulf Studies Symposium that welcomed international scholars and their academic paper presentations.   She teaches courses related to Kuwait foreign policy, international law and organizations, politics and women in the Middle East, and quantitative methods.
