Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.

Literature Online is a leading online resource for the study and teaching of literature in English. It is a fully integrated service that combines the texts of over 350,000 works of literature with huge resources of criticism and reference. The full text of over 341 current literature journals can be accessed through the renowned literary index, Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature (ABELL).

The Philosopher's Index is a bibliographic database with informative author-written abstracts covering scholarly research in the fifteen fields of philosophy, published in journals and books since 1940. D2O harnesses the collective power of libraries to support open and equitable access to vital, leading scholarship. Developed over two years with the generous support of the Arcadia Fund—and in close collaboration with the library community—D2O enables the diamond open access publication of digital monographs from the MIT Press, and, beginning in 2026, from Duke University Press and Goldsmiths Press as well.

OAPEN (Open Access Publishing in European Networks) was developed as a 30-month targeted project co-funded by the EU in its eContentplus-program (2008-2010). Ulrichsweb is an easy to search source of detailed information on more than 300,000 periodicals of all types: academic and scholarly journals, e-journals, peer-reviewed titles, popular magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and more. It covers more than 900 subject areas. Ulrich's records provide data points such as ISSN, publisher, language, subject, abstracting & indexing coverage, full-text database coverage, tables of contents, and reviews written by librarians.
